Outer Worlds are new collection from Another Galaxy

Outer Worlds is a new limited, one‑of‑a‑kind collection designed for plant lovers who want their cuttings to feel like they’re living in another galaxy.
This series leaves the old Spheres behind and steps into a bolder, more architectural universe of handmade planters, each crafted in Berlin and available now in the Dirty Roots shop.

Over the last months, I went quiet because every bit of energy went into designing this collection that didn’t just remix what already worked.
Instead of chasing trends, I spent time on form, function, and story – building sculptural sets that double as design objects for your shelves, windowsills, and studio spaces.

Outer Worlds is for people who see plant care as a ritual, not just a hobby: each set is one‑of‑one, hand‑built, and ready to ship worldwide from Berlin.
Think of it as a small constellation of propagation for your plants, each named after distant stars and systems – ready to support your cuttings while becoming the visual anchor of a room.

Teegarden’s Star is the anchor of the Outer Worlds collection: a bold, sculptural propagation set that instantly becomes the focal point of any shelf or sideboard. This set works beautifully on a dark shelf or workbench where you can interact with it daily. Teegarden’s Star is ideal if you want one hero piece that can host multiple cuttings at once and still feel like a cohesive art object.
Place it where you actually spend time – your desk, kitchen counter, or studio – and it will pull the whole space together while your plants slowly claim it as their own.

BARNARD set

BARNARD is a two-planter sculpture inspired by Barnard’s Star, a red dwarf known for its quiet, steady presence in the sky. That energy translates into this set through its low, solid profile and the way both spheres sit firmly on the rock, creating a composition that looks resolved from every angle.

This is the only Outer Worlds piece where the planters never drift away from their base – everything lives together as one sculptural landscape.
The result is a planting stage that feels intentional and balanced, perfect for people who want a ready-made layout that already “just works” without endless rearranging.

Both spheres are crafted from a mix of concrete and lava rock, fusing raw natural texture with clean, minimal forms.
The surface reveals organic fractures, pores, and tonal shifts that make each BARNARD set unique, giving it the feel of a small celestial fragment pulled straight from an asteroid belt.

Each planter includes a drainage hole, so despite its sculptural vibe, BARNARD is built for real plants and real use, not just display. Your roots stay aerated and happy while the exterior quietly brings that dark, cosmic mood to your shelf, table, or centerpiece.

LALANDE is built around contrast in harmony: smooth concrete planters with raw lava rock and stability tray in one unified composition. Both spheres fits colorsitically as both podiums are raw so the entire set behaves like a single landscape – balanced, stable, and visually resolved from every angle.

This gives LALANDE a calm, centering presence in a space.
It is the piece you place where you want subtle gravity – on a desk, console, bedside, or a low shelf in the living room. From above, it reads like a small star map of vessels and textures; from eye level, it becomes a gentle focal point that doesn’t overpower the room. As part of Outer Worlds, LALANDE is a one-of-a-kind set, which means the specific shape of the lava rock, the tones, and the overall composition will not repeat in exactly the same way.
If your home leans toward soft neutrals, warm tones, and grounded textures, this is the star in the collection that will feel like it has always belonged there.

In the bigger spheres, the STARDUST CATCHER is a specially designed, net‑covered drainage hole that lets excess water escape while holding every grain of soil neatly in place.
You get the function of a fully drained pot without soil spill‑out, so watering becomes easier, cleaner, and more forgiving on a daily basis.

The STABILITY PLATFORM works together with it, ensuring the sphere stays firmly positioned on any surface – no wobbling, rolling, or shifting when you water or adjust your plants.
This makes the larger spheres feel like grounded sculptural objects rather than fragile decor you need to fuss over.

The smaller spheres are engineered in a way that they don’t require the STARDUST CATCHER.
Each micro sphere is placed on a piece of lava rock with a precisely drilled cavity that collects excess water, so drainage is handled by the base itself.

This approach keeps the tiniest pieces visually light while still being practical, allowing them to function as real planters, not just decorative shells. The lava rock acts like a natural docking station, giving each micro sphere a stable, sculptural landing spot that feels organic and intentional.

Every lava rock base is sealed with a waterproof protectant, which helps prevent moisture from seeping through to the surface below.
Stability platform finished with a fine layer of felt on the underside, so your shelves, sideboards, and windowsills are protected from scratches and water marks.

Together, the STARDUST CATCHER, the STABILITY PLATFORM in larger spheres, and the sealed lava bases on micro spheres create a complete ecosystem: clean drainage, stable positioning, and furniture‑friendly protection built into every piece.
