LALANDE

LALANDE is named after the red dwarf star Lalande 21185. Located in the southern portion of Ursa Major (the big bear). It has two known exoplanets represented here by the two sphere planters.

This sculptural set features a classic ‘baby sphere’ planter and a micro-sphere.

It comes with a display rock and a stability platform. Both the stability platform and display rock are specially designed to elevate the whole system while creating a cohesive look. Unlike many of our sets and planters in the past, LALANDE is complete and ready to ship worldwide for the holiday season.

Both planters have carefully designed drainage holes.

All of our display rocks have holes drilled partway through to collect dripping water. The rocks and trays are felt-lined on the bottom to protect your furniture. The stability platform is also created in a way that collects excess water. I often leave the sitting water as this will be absorbed by the plant within a few days, and allows me to go longer without watering. But you do you.

*Plants not included. Which is a good thing because otherwise we wouldn’t be able to ship it outside of the EU. But since the set features a planter and a display rock, we can send it to you, no matter where you live. Unless you live in North Korea, then I guess we can’t ship it to you, but also, you probably shouldn’t be visiting our site. I hear they don’t like it when citizens use the internet.

LALANDE

Design:
The surface of the concrete contrasts with the structure of the lava rock, giving LALANDE a tactile and grounded appearance. The volcanic rock supports the smaller planter while the larger one rests on the stability platform. This brings the elements together in a single, stable composition that works as a functional object or as a sculptural display.

Color:
The larger planter is light grey with rivers of gold and multi-colored clouds.

Material:
Concrete, volcanic lava rock. 5kg in weight

Care:
For indoor or sheltered outdoor use. Use a liner if planting directly inside. Clean gently with a dry brush or cloth. The surface is porous and will naturally develop a patina over time.
