TOI-700 is a small red star about 100 light-years away, where NASA's TESS telescope found its first Earth-size planet in the zone where water could exist. TOI-700 is a dark sphere of concrete and lava rock on its own pedestal, with a weeping fig twisting out of it like a tree on a small planet.
Each sphere takes several weeks to make by hand in Berlin. Some of the plants in this collection have been growing for three to five years.
