21 Lutetia is an old, heavily cratered asteroid that ESA's Rosetta probe flew past in 2010. LUTETIA is a raw lava display stone holding two spheres of concrete and lava rock: a small one split open like a cracked shell and filled with moss, and a tiny one with a jade plant. The stone carries a brass Dirty Roots plate.
Each sphere takes several weeks to make by hand in Berlin. Some of the plants in this collection have been growing for three to five years.
Collection: WANDERERS, no. 7 of 9. One of one.
Materials: concrete, lava rock, lava display stone, brass plate
Size: cracked sphere about 8 cm, the tiny sphere smaller still
Plant: moss, jade plant
Care: bright light, even some direct sun; let the soil dry out between waterings
In the box: a handwritten note signed by Adam
Delivery: comes planted, ships within Germany only
