How Travels Shapes Us

by Myriam :)

Not everyone grows up surrounded by people who understand them. In some cities, families, or school environments, it can be hard to feel truly seen or heard.

Many people feel pressure to fit into a certain mold to act, speak, or think a certain way to be accepted. This can create confusion or loneliness, especially for those who feel different or think deeply.

One thing we often forget is that our environment shapes our perception of what’s “normal”.

But “normal” changes when you travel.

When I started to travel, I met people from completely different backgrounds. And surprisingly, some of them understood me better than people I had known my whole life. There was mutual respect, curiosity, and understanding without judgment.

This experience taught me that sometimes, you need distance to gain clarity. When you change your environment, you see yourself differently and you often meet people who align more with your real personality and values.

This is something we often observe at Dirty Roots.

The spheres we work with are unique. They don’t speak to everyone in the same way. But when someone feels drawn to a specific sphere, it’s not by chance. It’s a reflection of their energy, personality, or current emotional state.

In the same way, human connection doesn’t need to be forced.

When we are in the right place physically and emotionally we naturally attract people who recognize us for who we are.

So if you’ve never felt truly connected where you are, it might be time to explore something new.

You don’t always find your people at home.

Sometimes, they’re waiting for you somewhere else in another country, culture, or moment in your life.
